01Introduction

Studox (the "App") is a productivity tool for students. We are committed to transparency regarding your data. By using Studox, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

02Information we collect (cloud sync)

We use Google Firebase to provide account-based features. The following data is synced to our secure cloud servers:

• Account information: your name and email address, collected via Firebase Authentication and stored in Firebase Firestore to manage your profile.

03Data stored locally (on your device)

A significant portion of your data remains strictly on your device and is never synced to our servers:

• Personal productivity data: all your deadlines, subjects, notes, and study streaks are stored locally in a Room database on your device. We do not have access to this content.
• Media & attachments: images or videos attached to feedback reports are handled locally and sent via your own email client — they are never stored on our servers.
• App preferences: settings such as theme (light/dark mode) and language are stored locally using SharedPreferences.

04How we use data

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide account authentication and profile management.
• Enable cross-device access to your profile information.
• Provide customer support and respond to your feedback.
• Improve app performance and fix bugs based on technical info provided in feedback.

05Third-party services

Studox uses trusted third-party services for essential functionality:

• Google Play Services: for core Android functionality.
• Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage): for account management and profile data.
• Coil: for efficient image loading within the app.

06Permissions used

To provide a full experience, Studox requests the following permissions:

• Internet: to sync your profile and load external resources.
• Notifications: to send reminders for your deadlines and tasks.
• Camera: to let you take a profile picture.
• Storage / media: to let you select profile pictures or attach files to feedback.
• Calendar: to let you export deadlines to your device's system calendar.
• Alarms & boot receiver: to make sure your reminders still fire after a device restart.

07Data security

We take data security seriously. Your cloud-synced data is protected by Google's Firebase security infrastructure. Local data is protected by the Android operating system's standard sandboxing.

08Children's privacy

Studox does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe such data has been collected, contact us at help@dashtech.space and we will delete it immediately.

09Changes to this policy

We may update our Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes are effective immediately upon being posted in the app or on our official channels.
